Daniel Mparanyi – Gospel Artist, Musician, and Producer
Masasi Mparanyi Daniel, known professionally as Daniel Mparanyi or Damp the Cub, is a Congolese gospel singer, songwriter, producer, journalist, and multidisciplinary artist. Born on April 19, 1999, in Bukavu (DRC), Daniel’s music is rooted in faith, hope, and the power of God’s love to inspire and uplift communities.
He first gained recognition in 2017 with his debut single Uko Mwema, which quickly became a song of encouragement and spiritual hope for young audiences in Goma. In 2019, he was a finalist at the 2Gospel Talent Show, later returning as a vocal coach, demonstrating his dedication to mentoring emerging gospel talents.
In 2020, Daniel released his first gospel album, NJNL, a multilingual project in French, English, and Swahili, reflecting his vision to transcend cultural and linguistic barriers through music. His influence soon extended across the region: in 2022, he participated in In His Presence, a collaborative gospel project organized by Gates of Praise (Kenya), alongside South African bassist Bhekha Mthetwa and Kenyan singer Bethuel Lasoi.
In 2023, Daniel joined the Suluhisho ya Kwetu Festival, an event centered on community well-being, faith, and spiritual unity, where he was appointed ambassador. The same year, he released Bénis le Congo, a gospel anthem calling for national unity and collective blessings.
In 2024, Daniel unveiled his second gospel album, Imani (Faith), a musical testament to trust in God and hope for the future. He organized the Imani Rebuild Concert in Goma, bringing together thousands to celebrate faith, resilience, and community. The event also supported Gun Gunna, an organization dedicated to nurturing young talents and supporting vulnerable communities, with Daniel serving as ambassador.
Beyond the stage, Daniel is the founder of Live Your Dream, a gospel label that nurtures emerging artists and promotes a vision of music grounded in faith, hope, and collective inspiration. His tours across East Africa from Kigali to Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kampala demonstrate his commitment to spreading gospel music and building spiritual bridges across communities.
Today, Daniel Mparanyi stands as a gospel artist-ambassador of hope, carrying a universal message: through faith and music, lives can be uplifted, communities strengthened, and hope restored.
